Netflix Summer Shows.

What I’m watching on Netflix.

We just recently discovered this pretty cool show called Mr. Iglesias. My husband busts out laughing every time, me on the other hand, it’s ok. It just has a Nickelodeon feel to me like a 10 or 12 year old should be watching, but it’s for adults too.
✔ The show, titled Mr. Iglesias, follows a Wilson High history teacher teaching gifted but misfit students in the school he attended growing up.

Black Mirror season 5, Not worth my time, I really enjoyed the first 4 seasons, but this one was such a disappointment

✔ Black Mirror is much like the Twilight Zone with each story that taps into the collective unease about the modern world.

Sabrina is one I absolutely love, if anyone knows me they know I’m into the occult, witches, vampires etc. I’ve seen the original back in the late 90s early 2000, but I have to say I love the dark aspect of this show and not some fluffy bunny hocus pocus bull sh!t

✔Sabrina is a tale of the dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror and the #occult. In the reimagined origin story, Sabrina Spellman wrestles to reconcile her dual nature half-witch, half-mortal while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family including aunts Hilda and Zelda and the daylight world humans inhabit.

I am patiently waiting for part 3 🤗

✔Then there is Marlon, I 100% love this new comedy on #Netflix, it is super funny!

Here’s the synopsis of the show:

Marlon balances his successful career as an internet superstar with his life co-parenting two kids alongside his smart and sassy ex-wife, Ashley. Whether it’s hanging with his friends, navigating the adventures of adulthood with his ex or being with his kids as they face the highs and lows of growing up, things never go quite as expected with Marlon around. His unconventional advice and over-the-top personality may not always make things easy, but it’s hard not to love him just the way he is.

✔Girlfriends Guide to Divorce

This show follows the famous author of a best selling self help book series who is hiding the fact that she’s separated from her husband as she starts to navigate her life as a single woman in her early 40s. She finds herself seeking advice from her divorced friends, instead of her married ones which leads to some unexpected and life changing experiences.

So, those are some of the shows that I’m watching, I’d love to hear what you are watching this #summer

Weekend Wrap Up

Here’s what happened over the weekend.

● Saturday June 22:

Woke up at 6:30 in the morning (because of my daughters cat) and started to work on my steps for the day I have had some knee problems so doing the 10K isn’t exactly where I’m at any more and I’m more like at 6K, depending on how the knee reacts. Around 8A it started lightning ⚡and thundering ⛈ and oh my, is it dark out, yikes! 10:30 was our couples massage💆‍♀️ and let me tell you, we ABSOLUTELY needed this. So AMAZING if you’ve never had a massage, go get one!

After that we chilled at the house, got some laundry done, Netflix a couple shows then out to a very small intimate birthday celebration🎉 for my bestie, she turned 42.

Here’s a couple of things we hit for her, she was so over- joyed. It’s the little things in life that mean the most.

Here is a bonfire our men were creating with gasoline 😮 Let me just say they enjoyed making fire lol…

● Sunday the 24th

We got a lot and I mean a lot of fireworks 💥 for the fourth of July, yes, my hunny went a little over board, hehe but it is also our 22nd Anniversary too, yay, I cannot wait for that day.

We also saw a pretty amazing movie, Aladdin, again, so so AMAZING! I definitely want to buy that one when it’s out on DVD.

We also had some Chinese food to top off the evening for dinner.

What did you do over the weekend?

Summer Time

Happy Summer Solstice 🌞y’all!

I love this time of year, but hey, who who doesn’t!?

You should be celebrating the return of the #sun especially after that long dreaded winter, right!?

Some activities you could do to celebrate the #summer solstice is simply bathe in the sunlight, assuming the sun is out and not coudy like it is here in Kentucky LOL, but hey, you can’t have it all, hehe!

You could also make a crown of flowers or weeds lol that will make you feel a kid again, you could also paint a sun catcher or even color a simple coloring book about summer.

You could make a flower craft using beans or shells (great for kids). Also, you could just simply garden or perhaps start one.

Generally, you could do a simple ritual if that’s your thing or an easy meditation or just as simply read about the ancient tradition on how they used to celebrate the summer solstice.

Do you have any plans for the summer solstice this weekend, I would love to hear about it.

I hope y’all have a fantastic summer solstice!

Nothing Can Stop You.

Sometimes life doesn’t give you what you think you want.
Not because you don’t deserve it – but because you deserve MORE.

How many times have I felt beaten by life because I didn’t get “the job” “the guy” “the recognition” “the apartment” “the loan” or whatever “it” was – and not too far down the road I got something better.

It’s hard to know why things happen when they don’t seem to be going our way, but trust that it’s all happening FOR you, not TO you and stay open, don’t blame yourself or beat yourself up.

Life isn’t like Amazon Prime, it isn’t guaranteed 2-day shipping so sometimes we just need to be more patient.

One of my favorite all time quotes comes from the late, great Steve Jobs, who said – “you can’t connect the dots looking forward, only looking backwards.”

In this present moment you and I are sharing right now as you read these words, we both have 2 ways to see things:
We can see everything that’s wrong and feel anxious, stressed, sad or angry, which actually blocks us from being able to go after what we want with as much power and clarity as we’ll need…

Or we can focus on everything that we have and what’s right, and feel grateful, peaceful, present.

From that presence we can create powerful, meaningful action to get what we want.

Being peaceful doesn’t mean we put down our sword and stop fighting for what we want, on the contrary.

A peaceful warrior swings her sword with precision, and doesn’t waste her energy flailing around angrily hacking at weeds.

Be a peaceful warrior.
Focus on the good and know you are exactly where you should be, and have everything inside that you need to get where you want to go. ❤️

Self Love

Just five days of self love!

Self love is more than a bubble bath 🛁

A scrub in the tub with some sweet smelling lotions and potions won’t wash away the nasty names you’ve been calling yourself for years.

No – what you need is a more fantastic experience.

That’ll get you to dive DEEP into your mind, heart and soul.

Exercises that will help you undo damage, overcome conditioning and fall head over heels in LOVE ❤ with each and every aspect of yourself and your life.

1. Mediate – Listen to a self love meditation. I love e a good guided meditation, it really helps me to focus.

2. Put yourself first – Make a list of things you want to say NO and YES to. Think about what you really want and chase them.

3. Self acceptance – Think of a situation you’re having trouble accepting, and determine what about it you can and can’t control. Then, let go of what you can’t, and create a plan for what you can do

4. Gratitude- what are you grateful for? Write it down.

5. Self care – re-evaluate what you are putting into your body. Nutrition is so important for your body.

I hope some of these exercises help to push you to think about what you want in life and how they can take care of yourself.

How do you practice #selflove?
